About this Project

Hi, I'm Jason.
I'm an undergraduate cyber security student.

Ciphle is a web-based, word game that was completed as a solution to a university assignment. The game consists of 4 unique sentences that have been ciphered and arranged in a crossword format that are read left-to-right and top-to-bottom. The letters of these sentences have been rearranged so the player must deduce the original letters and reconstruct the sentences.

The player will swap letters around by using the menu at the bottom of the screen where letters can be dragged into various slots.

Within the rearranged sentences: white letters represent unchanged letters, blue letters represent the player's guesses, and green letters represent correct guesses.

Letters will only turn green once an entire sentence is complete, and letters that are shared between incomplete sentences and complete sentences will both turn green. When all sentences have entirely turned green, the game is over.

Upon the completion of the game, a window will inform the user of the duration and the number of guesses made.

Every midnight, the problem will reset and 4 new sentences with new letter substitutions will be shown.

Ciphle was inspired by the popular game Wordle and uses the same concept of delayed gratification. My enjoyment of puzzle games and my experience with Unity inspired me to develop Ciphle. Hopefully, you will find the game fun and challenging.
